Let me tell you a bit about me...
Hi, I’m Kerry! 👋
I'm a therapist and parent coach, and a mom to two creative and passionate neurodivergent kids.
I'm also a private practice owner based in Vancouver, BC, where I offer parent consultation services and counselling sessions for neurodivergent children, youth, and adults.
Because my practice is full and the need is high, I wanted to find a way to reach more families with affirming care that's fuelled by science and lived-experience.
That's how Neurodivergent Parenting 101 was born — it's a compilation of all of my professional and experiential knowledge as a practitioner and parent who gets it.

Neurodivergent Parenting 101 is for you, if...
Your child is newly diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, PDA, sensory processing challenges, and/or anxiety, and you don't know where to begin
You've known your kid is neurodivergent for a while, but rewards and punishments aren't a fit
Your child doesn't have a diagnosis, but is an out-of-the-box thinker, and is aggressive, anxious, or sensitive
Here's what's waiting for you inside Neurodivergent Parenting 101:
-
Understand what neurodiversity is, and how affirming it is the foundation of inclusive and respective parenting.
Recognize that gentle, strengths-based, and attachment-focused parenting is not permissive parenting. Instead, it’s an effective framework that sets kids up to collaborate with us genuinely instead of out of fear.
Get curious about how your early relationships, trauma history, current and past influences, and mental blocks are preventing you from being the confident parent you want to be.
Move towards trusting your own parenting intuition even when questioned by others.
Understand the foundation of the Neurodivergent Parenting 101 course: Checking in with yourself; checking in with your child; and taking respectful, gentle, conscious action.
-
Weigh the pros and cons of assessments and learn how to share a diagnosis with your child in an affirming way.
Learn what it means and how to build positive neurodivergent culture in your home.
Learn how to accommodate your child's unique sensory and social needs.
Connect with your child via their Special Interests, and support their executive functioning challenges.
Support your child with tools and equipment for your home, and learn how to decorate and organize in a way that suits their particular needs and strengths.
-
Understand the prerequisites that need to be met in order for your child to build regulation and self-advocacy skills.
Resource yourself with communication, problem-solving, and calming strategies you can implement to lessen the chaos and allow your child to feel seen and heard.
Learn and use basic play therapy skills to foster connection and offer alternative ways for your child to communicate their emotional experience.
Identify how you can offer yourself care both in-the-moment and pre-emptively.
-
Understand what's behind many common neurodivergent experiences that most parenting books and courses don't address.
Resource yourself with mindsets and strategies to support the needs behind behavioural, relational, and sensory differences.
Learn how to find a neurodiversity-affirming support team.
Lean into your own intuition and trust your child as you identify which professionals and therapies do/don't feel like a fit.
-
Educate those around you about your child's (and your own!) needs and how they can offer support.
Set boundaries with family and friends, and navigate gatherings and playdates.
Share with teachers and school staff about the roots behind your child's behaviours and how they can care for them both pre-emptively and in-the-moment.
Be an advocate in a macro-movement to end the stigma, and affirm neurodiversity beyond your home and in your community.
What Past Students Have To Say
-
"I don’t know if I can fully articulate it, but there’s definitely been a massive shift. Everything opened up for me suddenly. It’s like I went through a “doorway,” and now I have much more capacity to hold space, and to have patience and compassion. When my son gets easily frustrated or when he's having a difficult time, I have a better understanding of the bigger picture and what’s beneath the surface, and now I can create more balance in our lives."
-
"In my decade of teaching experience, I worked with a wide range of children including many students with autism. Kerry’s course completely changed my perspective on neurodivergence. With her guidance, I learned to approach my students with acceptance and celebration, recognizing and embracing their unique strengths and differences. This mindset shift improved the learning experience for my students, and positively impacted their mental well-being. The strategies and techniques taught in this course provide valuable insights for parents and educators of neurodivergent children. I highly recommend Kerry’s work, it was well worth my time and investment."
-
"Before this course, we had made, what felt like, radical decisions to just follow our child's lead and forgo putting them into every therapy and activity because we were supposed to. We felt like we were on the right track by making this decision but everything around us in society was telling us differently. This course reassured us that we were making the best choices for our child by trusting our intuition and to continue trusting ourselves. I learned so much about different parenting styles as well as struggles that other parents experience. It was nice to know that I am not alone. "
-
"I learned so much from Kerry’s course and would highly recommend it to other parents of ND kids. Kerry is an insightful and compassionate facilitator and we have already implemented many of her gentle approaches in our home. The opportunity to learn with Kerry and connect with other families was a real gift, thank you!"
-
"Kerry's info and ideas are by far the most useful and relevant I have come across in relation to parenting and understanding my ND kiddos."
-
"I’ve learned to separate behaviours, and to see that my child is looking for more connection with me. Trying to separate my feelings about the behaviour and see what he’s really needing – that’s been a shift for me."
