About me
Hi! I’m Kerry.
Connection, creativity, and curiosity fuel my work as a counsellor. With an educational background in Behavioural Science and Counselling Psychology, and with a passion for artful and playful living, I offer a unique therapeutic approach that honours both neuroscience and your intuitive process.
I hold safe space for individuals of all ages, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, neurotypes, religions, relational statuses and structures, socio-economic statuses, and ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Because I do not believe you are broken, I will not try and fix you. Instead, my approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, which means that I’ll highlight your gifts and respect your feelings of emotional safety. Together, we can explore new rhythms of thinking and being, gently moving towards self-compassion and self-expression, at your pace.
Talk Therapy
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” -Dr Maya Angelou
Sharing our stories in safe and accepting spaces with a non-judgmental and empathetic other can allow us to process past experiences and traumas that keep us feeling stuck.
Approach
Art, Play, and Sand Tray Work
Creating external expressions of our internal realities can effectively move emotional energy through our bodies. Regardless of our age, it can allow us to access unconscious fears and longings that are often hidden from our everyday awareness, and interact with them in a way that may feel safer than talking about it.
Psychoeducation
Understanding what’s happening behind our behaviour can make it easier for us to offer ourselves compassion. Science-backed explanations and strategies can help to demystify our experience and equip us to interact with tough emotions, navigate relationships, and trust, accept, and express ourselves.
